The vast, flat and featureless Fens landscape is the backdrop to Gary O'Connor�s first novella, The Field, a disquieting story of a man whose decision to take singing lessons brings him to question his perception of reality. O�'Connor's installation at Transition in London accompanies the novella, extending the text with visual, olfactory and auditory elements. The Edge of Intent : Utopian Aspirations of Urban Planners

The Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago is proud to present The Edge of Intent, an exhibition that investigates the utopian aspirations of urban planners, and how their idealistic visions sometimes become static and incapable of adapting to changing environments and systems. The works in this exhibition warn us of the hazards of 'thinking big', while urging us to consider the centrality of dynamism in successful urban design. Included are Liset Castillo, Dionisio Gonzalez, Andrew Harrison,Tim Long, David Maisel, Simon Menner, Danielle Roney, Christina Seely, Eric Smith, and Joel Sternfeld.
