NEW YORK, NY.- Fifty years after the realization of Frank Lloyd Wright’s renowned design, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum celebrates the golden anniversary of its landmark building with the exhibition Frank Lloyd Wright: From Within Outward, co-organized by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. On view from May 15 through August 23, 2009, the 50th anniversary exhibition brings together 64 projects designed by one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, including privately commissioned residences, civic and government buildings, religious and performance spaces, as well as unrealized urban mega-structures. The Art Institute of Chicago Inaugurates Modern Wing Designed By Renzo Piano
CHICAGO.- The Art Institute of Chicago is celebrating the May 16 opening of its new Modern Wing with a week of free admission. Austin Museum of Art Presents Season 32 of The TERRITORY Television Series
AUSTIN, TX.- The Austin Museum of Art announced the lineup for its annual television showcase of international film and video, The Territory. Scheduled to debut its 32nd season on Tuesday, May 26 at 10 PM. The Territory features fourteen programs that blend experimental, documentary, narrative and animated shorts from around the world. The Cartier Award 2009: Winner Announced
LONDON.- Frieze Art Fair is delighted to announce that the winner of The Cartier Award 2009 is the American artist Jordan Wolfson. Wolfson is a talented conceptual artist, based in Berlin and New York. His winning proposal was selected from over 450 applications. Once again, entries to the Cartier Award were made by artists from all over the world. Jersey City Museum Presents Investigations of Place Screening and Reception
JERSER CITY, NJ.- Jersey City Museum is pleased to be part of JC Fridays on Friday, June 5th, 2009! Artist Patrick Dougherty to Speak About his Tree Sculpture at KU
LAWRENCE.- World-renowned sculptor Patrick Dougherty will give an artist's talk about his work, which consists of large-scale tree sculptures, on Thursday, May 21 at 5:30 PM in the Spencer Museum of Art Auditorium. Museum Gala Draws a Great Crowd for a Great Cause
JERSEY CITY.-Jersey City Museum's Sixth Annual ArtRageous Ball was held on April 30th, 2009 at The Westin Jersey City. With 200 guests from the worlds of real estate, financial services, the arts, and government, the evening began with a cocktail reception featuring the drink of the evening: the "ART-tini." Cocktails were followed by dinner, music and dancing, a Silent Art Auction featuring work by 20 artists from the region, and a Luxury Prize Raffle. Fidelity Investments served as the Lead Sponsor of the event. Congressman Frank J.
