Goldberg who invited artists to join her in commemorating a momentous occasion in American history. With millions of people coming to Washington to celebrate a new era, Goldberg, an activist and artist, wanted to play her part so she did what she does best assembled this eclectic collection of works that express the hopes and dreams of artists with whom shes worked for years. Much of the art youll see in Inaugural Inspiration was created specifically for the show, and some pieces were chosen because they fit the theme. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com | | Arndt Tomas: Yes, we can World Paintings Gallery, , DE Germany Arndt Tomas, well-known artist from German, has created an oil painting inspired by the guiding principleof Barack Obama 'Yes, we can!'. 'Fire Rainbow Obama' celebrates him as a special gift to all the people of the world. A president that gives us all hope. Therefore Saint Jameschose afire rainbow to symbolize him. A fire rainbow isa phenomenon rarely seen or experienced. The rainbow also isbiblical promise of hope for good and some of us will also think of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. In an astrological sense Obama is also a fire sign, a Leo.Synthia Saint James has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com | | Clara Menerella: Faces Again Il Ramo d'Oro, Naples, IT Italy Il Ramo d'Oro opens the new year with the solo exhibition of the well known artist Clara Menerella. A woman with eyes to the world, who lives immersed in the daily events, struggling, not only working, to build a better world, as Artistic Education teacher, wife, mother and fervent researcher in visual communication. Like an archeologist Menerella digs and brings to light classical figures that speak to contemporary: the appearance is the essence of contemporary, it brings to light the woman of all time: beautiful, sensual, a victim of her own femininity, of the duty to be pleasant. The opening was held on Saturday 1/17/2009 at 6 pm with introduction by Armando Profumi. It will be possible to visit the exhibition every day but on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. On Friday 1/23/2009 Rino Vellecco will present 'Paths of tought'. Video-triptych between Neapolitan anthropology, politic and culture. Jonathan Levy is a young, New York City bred artist who I met while visiting "The Artists Fair" at Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2008. I was struck by his style, which he calls "Style of Nature." He's a very talented artist and I asked him if he would consent to an interview. Starting off, I asked him about how he was surviving as an artist in this current economy. He sent me a really great, but long email that not only addressed that question, but several others. So, with his permission, I broke up his answer into the conversation that you see below. In short, I got creative, but this remains true to his voice. I think you'll enjoy his insight and his website at www.styleofnature.com but first, here's our chat: MICHAEL: First of all Jonathan, thanks for talking with me. How did you start out as an artist? JONATHAN: Six years ago when I finished up with school (Pratt Institute), I realized I needed to figure out two very important things. First, I needed to find a painting style that I loved to do and needed to figure out what to do with it once I found it. I was on the first plane to Hawaii in search of these answers. My search led me to Maui because I had heard it was one of the art capitals and I was in search of some serious inspiration. Leave Your Comments
