8th Annual Art Inter-National Art Exhibition
Boxheart Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA USA United States of America

The Art Inter/National Exhibition at Boxheart Gallery in Pittsburgh began in January 2002 with the concept of exploring space, how the immediate environment impacts the artistic process and influences what each artist creates. The tradition of this exhibition continues January 9 through January 31, 2009 with notification to the artists selected for participation in the 2009 Art Inter/National Exhibition. Inspired by the prestigious Carnegie International, Box Heart Gallery is thrilled to offer the Pittsburgh community an intimate, yearly alternative. Over 220 entries, from regional, national, and international artists, were received this year. Of these entries, 20 artists were selected for participation and 28 works of art in a variety of media will be exhibited. Included is Maciej Hoffman, who has been a Premiere Portfolio member at absolutearts.com since July 2008. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com

The contemporary paintings of Daniel Bottero will be featured in Palm Beach at PB3 January 15-18. The paintings are from the 2006 series "The Love of the Poet". For more information or to be a guest of Carolyn Blitz Fine Art, contact info@CarolynBlitzFineArt.com. Bottero's style is distinguished by the sureness of markings that interrupt the color fields to become part of his own visual language of images and signs. The emotional journey of life is the sublime substance for subtle abstract images that are messages from the soul. Beautifully colored backgrounds, forms and figures entice the viewer to become a part of the painting and create his or her own ending to a story both personal and universal.

Art World
Jeffrey Andreoni

Arthur Danto first gave the notion of the "artworld" a philosophical definition: the artworld provides the theories of art which all members of the artworld tacitly assume in order for there to be objects considered as art (see "The Artworld," Journal of Philosophy (1964)).

For many of us, entering the artworld remains a distant dream. If only there were only a way to sneak our work into a museum. Bansky has accomplished such feats on several occasions by clandestinely hanging his paintings in the Moma and Louvre, only to have them removed by museum staff (albeit days later).

I had the idea to create a Trojan-Horse that I could ride into the artworld. What better than a picture frame, a tableau vivant through which to view the artworld and at the same time be displayed, thereby changing my role from observerto observed. I encapsulated myself within the border of a frame and attempted to create a micronation as a satellite of the artworld.
