Madrid Opens Magic Box: Most Advanced Tennis Facility Designed by Dominique Perrault

MADRID.- Madrid’s Olympic Tennis Centre, designed by leading French architect Dominique Perrault, was inaugurated today. Described as one of the world’s most advanced sports facilities, the venue will host some 200 players during the Madrid Open tennis (May 9-17, 2009) and aims to reinforce the Spanish Capital’s candidature for the 2016 Olympics. Dominique Perrault, best known for such pioneering buildings as the Berlin Velodrome and Olympic Swimming Pool and the Bibliothèque nationale de France, has offices in Paris, Madrid and Luxembourg. Columbia Museum of Art Surpasses More than 20,000 Tickets to Turner to Cézanne Exhibition
COLUMBIA, SC.- Eight weeks into the exhibition, Turner to Cézanne: Masterpieces from the Davies Collection, National Museum Wales, the Columbia Museum of Art has surpassed 20,000 tickets for visitors and members. PADDINGTON.- Winners of the 2009 Head On Portrait Prize were announced tonight at the Australian Centre for Photography in Paddington to a record crowd of well over 1000 people. Smithsonian American Art Museum Presents Monumental Installations by Jean Shin
WASHINGTON, DC.- Jean Shin is nationally recognized for her monumental installations that transform castoff materials into elegant expressions of identity and community. University of the Arts Launches Nation's First Teaching Artist Certification Program
