Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf returns to the gallery Magda Danysz after the beginning of year  marked by a lot of museum solo shows and retrospectives from Antwerp to Salamanca, including  The Hague and Paris at the Dutch Institute. On the occasion of this new Parisian exhibition, the  artist presents his last series of photos entitled  Laboral Escena. 'Emergence of Self at Midlife' a joint exhibit by Louise and David Weinberg The Art Gallery at the Honan-Allston Branch of the Boston Public Library will present 'The Emergence of Self in Midlife' by husband and wife artists Louise and David Weinberg from September 12 through October 17, 2009. Although the couple use different media for expression - painting and photography, respectively - their vision reflects a shared interest in the subject of the Self. Guided by the work of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, the couple visually explore different aspects of the self that emerge over the course of a lifetime. The Emily Harvey Foundation is pleased to present A Book About Death, a sprawling, collaborative unbound 'book' on the subject of death at the Emily Harvey Foundation Gallery in New York. The opening, on Thursday, September 10, 2009, one day shy of 9/11, brings together hundreds of artists in a global exhibition that honors the late artist Ray Johnson (1927-1995), whose own work inspired this exhibition, Emily Harvey (1941-2004), and the artists themselves, who have presented their unique visions of the subject through combinations of art, photography, and text.
