Following several art exhibitions in Italy, Mexico and the Principality of Monaco, Passion for Life has been offered the opportunity to exhibit in Paris, France, under the banner of the prestigious Societe des Artistes Independants. Following the invitation of the President of the Society, Mrs. Franckie Tacque, and her Board of Directors, 15 international artists will exhibit their art for a humanitarian cause: the fight against cancer. A small group of innovative artists, Paul Cezanne, Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Camille Pissarro and the founders Albert Dubois-Pillet, Odilon Redon, Henri-Edmond Cross, Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, founded the Salon des Indpendants in 1884. In a movement of defiance, these Neo-Impressionist painters, tired from being refused by the juries of the official Salon, decided to create their own Salon - the Salon des Indpendants - with the fundamental principle of no jury, nor reward. Included this year is Maz Jackson who has been a Premiere Portfolio artist at absolutearts.com since 2002. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com | | Through the Eyes of Love: World AIDS Day Art Exhibition Harvey W. The side of an old building which has been painted over many times reveals chipping and curling paint. A painted iron pipe exposed to salt air reveals intricate patterns of cracking and rust. Construction or demolition sites have spray paint markings that accent the richly varied materials that lay in piles or are stacked in tidy rows. All of these structures provide textures that are evident in her work. She combines them with vertical and horizontal divisions that are reminiscent of windows and doorways in her abstract pieces and horizon lines in her landscapes. Translations Gallery promotes their artists with a Gallery Portfolio at absolutearts.com. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com | | Call for Aritsts: Clash of the Artists 2009 Art for Progress, New York, NY USA United States of America Prepare Yourself for Clash of the Artists 2009! As I sit here pondering the news that I got today, I can only think about how far I've come yet how much more work remains undone. Have you ever tried to write and produce an illustrated art book for "everyday people" using your own resources on your own free time? If not, I can't say I recommend it unless you're possessed by some overpowering sense of mission. It certainly won't be for "the money." But I digress. My new book, "THE ART OF EVERYDAY JOE: A COLLECTOR'S JOURNAL," has been honored with a National Best Books Award (Art Instructional Category). For me, this is simultaneously meaningless yet overwhelmingly meaningful. Let's face it, awards don't feed you, keep you warm at night or fill your gas tank. My book is the same exact book that it was BEFORE it won the award and I certainly haven't changed. However, maybe the art world will feel a tiny jolt. More on that in a moment. Leave Your Comments
