Multi-media Exhibitions Reflect the Poetry of Space and Todays Anxious Accumulations
Southwest School of Art and Craft / Russell Hill Rogers Galleries, San Antonio, TX USA United States of America

Two new exhibitions at the Southwest School of Art & Craft bring nationally respected artists to San Antonio with thoughtful installations of mixed media works. Holly Hanessian is an Associate Professor of Art at Florida State University. Her work involves ceramic and mixed media installations, sculptural objects and artist books. The installation at San Antonios art school, The Poetry of Space, will include porcelain letters strung on monofilament, offering a chance to reflect on such notions as fate, luck and chance. Hanessian has said of this work: By combining words with delicate porcelain chain link and ceramic objects, a story is woven reflecting what we both lose and gain at different times in our life. I continue to question how, why and where we end up in life, is it good fortune, destiny or the result of choice? Hanessian serves as exhibitions director of the National Council on Education of the Ceramics Arts. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com

Voodoo: Hoochie Coochie and the Creative Spirit opened at Riflemaker in London on Tuesday 28 October 2008 and continues through Saturday 12 January 2009. The act of putting brush to canvas is an act of lyrical intuition, and in that act, in that instant, the personality and indeed the spirituality of the artist is revealed. Francis Bacon quoted in Herbert Read 'Art Now', 1933. The work of artists, writers, musicians and dancers who acknowledge the need to reach a heightened or 'altered' state of mind in order to create their work is the subject of 'Voodoo - Hoochie-Coochie and the Creative Spirit', at Riflemaker from 28 October. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com

Life in motion, in the field of human experience

Everything in life is in motion and everything in the universe--from a thought to a solid rock, from the smallest electron to the entire cosmos-- is in a constant state of vibration. Life itself in the present moment are orchestrated like a great symphony. In sharing this same, reality, dream and Spirit. The struggle for a living/survival, understanding and liberation lives on cycle after cycle. This progress, force us further. In this evolutionary journey lies the potential to be, to become, more that is and more that have been. Through participation lies the potential for creation, to come inte being.
