Suki Chan: Interval
Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester, UK United Kingdom

Interval n. 1. a period between two events or times, or the space between two end points 2. the difference in pitch between two notes. 'Interval' is a film installation project by interdisciplinary artist Suki Chan exploring our transient relationships with buildings and the nature of our inhabitation of space and time. With particular reference to two contrasting types of architecture from British and Chinese history and culture, the work uses light, moving image, electronics and sound with mixed media installation to create a sensual experience inviting the viewer to meditate on their relationship to their environment. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com

BOHDAN STEHLIK / UNA SZEEMANN: WHITE NIGHTS DARK DREAMS
CACT - centro d'arte contemporanea ticino, Bellinzona, CH Switzerland

The series of 68 black and white photographs of various dimensions entitled DARK MOVIES (2007) in room 1 opens the personal show of BOHDAN STEHLIK and UNA SZEEMANN (1973, 1975) at the CACT - Centre of Contemporary Art in Canton Ticino. Hung randomly in the first room, like an accumulation of crazily dancing still shots, this work comprises a veritable introduction to the exhibitions theme, but also the exemplary, successful genesis of the work done by this artistic duo since they got together in about 2006. DARK MOVIES actually provides the interpretative key that automatically opens the doors to all the rooms in the exhibition, a key around which Stehlik and Szeemann decided to develop a joint effort that questions artistic languages from a point of view both of theme and of semiology. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com

In the future Ed and Hyacinthe Baron will exhibit only on important virtual art gallery web sites on the world-wide-web. absolutearts.com, barongallery.com, barongalleries.com, artnet.com, saatchigallery.com. In the past the artist and her manager husband of 39 years maintained art galleries nationwide. Hyacinthe always enjoyed meeting collectors visiting her galleries on Madison Avenue, NYC, Palm Desert and Beverly Hills, CA. They received the maximum number of visitors, as many as 500 at one time, who can physically attend a gallery opening and possibly 1000 over a month. The limitations of attendance are a built in along with the lease, rent, advertising and other business expenses. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com
