MADRID.- “la Caixa” Social and Cultural Outreach Projects at CaixaForum Madrid shows some of the greatest treasures of Islamic art, from ancient al-Andalus to India. The art, the history, the traditions and the geographies of the Islamic world from the Far East to the Iberian Peninsula are the subjects of the exhibition The Worlds of Islam in the Aga Khan Museum Collection. Organised by ”la Caixa” Social and Cultural Outreach Projects in association with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, it contains some of the finest productions, not only of the Islamic sphere, but of universal art, with the common denominator of the Arabic language and the Muslim religion. Launch of Sharjah Art Foundation Announced By HH Sheikha Hoor Al-Qasimi

Unprecedented Exhibition of Photographs by Richard Misrach to Travel to Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA.- The High Museum of Art will host a nationally touring exhibition of 20 large-scale photographs by Richard Misrach, a recognized pioneer of large-format color photography. Best known for his images of the American desert, he recently began capturing monumental images of the ocean, sunbathers and swimmers. "On the Beach" marks the largest exhibition of works from this series ever to be on view together. The exhibition was organized by the artist in conjunction with the Art Institute of Chicago, where it debuted in September 2007. "On the Beach" will be on view at the High from June 6 through August 30, 2009. Washington State History Museum Celebrates Native American Tradition and Innovation
TACOMA, WA.- The Washington State History Museum and The Evergreen State College Longhouse Education and Cultural Center present the fourth annual In the Spirit: Contemporary Northwest Native Arts Exhibit, Market and Festival. The exhibit’s featured artwork has been selected by a three-member jury comprised of local experts in Native American art. The exhibit opens July 9 and will be on display through August 30. Demuth's Destinations On View at the Demuth Museum
LANCASTER, PA.- The Demuth Museum's forthcoming exhibition, Demuth's Destinations will explore the artist's travels in the United States and abroad in relation to his ground breaking Modernist art. Following his study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Charles Demuth (1883-1935) made his permanent residence and studio in his family home in Lancaster, creating the vast majority of his art there. RSGBK Foundation Makes Major Gift of Art to the National Museum of Wildlife Art
JACKSON HOLE, WY.- The Robert S. and Grayce B. Kerr Foundation recently advised the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of Wildlife Art that the Foundation was conveying to the Museum some 428 works of art and related items with a current market value of approximately $16 million. The Foundation has been a cornerstone supporter of the Museum for over two decades.
