Edgar Degas' dancer sells for 13.3 mln pounds in London AFP
A bronze edition of the famous sculpture of a young ballet dancer by Edgar Degas sold at auction in London on Tuesday for a record 13.3 million pounds, auctioneers Sotheby's said. "Petite Danseuse de Quatorze Ans" is one of several versions of the work, which caused a sensation when the original wax edition was first exhibited in Paris in 1881 for its realistic depiction of a 14-year-old girl...
Government acts to shore up shaky market The Art Newspaper
The Beijing Cultural Development Foundation, an arts funding body under the auspices of the Propaganda Bureau, has established a special Art Beijing fund to finance struggling galleries under an "Art Beijing" brand.
