Rossi and Rossi, London, UK United Kingdom Rossi and Rossi are delighted to be staging the first solo exhibition in Europe of work by Naiza H. Khan, an acclaimed Pakistani artist who lives and works in Karachi and whose work has been exhibited to much acclaim there as well as in Dubai, Hong Kong, Islamabad, Mumbai and New York. The Skin She Wears will comprise some 15 recent sculptures and drawings and will take place at 16 Clifford Street, London W1, from 24 September to 25 October 2008. For over a decade Naiza Khan has focused on a thematic meditation on the female body and she says that The Skin She Wears began as a strategy to explore the emotional content of the body through attire. Red Mansion Foundation, London, UK United Kingdom Down Town Production is a fiercely dynamic group show bringing cutting-edge, urban Chinese art to the UK. Curated by one of China�s leading artists, Yan Lei, the exhibition brings together eight rising stars of contemporary Chinese art whose work reflects the recent dramatic social and economic transformation of China. It is anticipated that 70% of China�s 1.3 billion population will live in urban areas by 2035. At the end of 2002, records showed that China�s urban population totalled 502 million, living in over 21,000 towns and cities. Down Town Production is a selection of art that reflects and explores this dramatic shift. The artists will give us a taste of China�s emerging popular culture, with works as diverse as avant-garde architect Wang Hui�s self-sufficient animal habitat and ground-breaking L.A.S.E.R. graffiti by conceptual artist, DJ and rapper, MC Yan. L.A.S.E.R. tagging is the very newest form of graffiti art developed only a year ago and currently cropping up in cities all over the world. Baker will be displaying and selling his acrylic on canvas work 'City Place West Palm' which has been selected for the upcoming exhibition Ar(t)chitectural Attitude at the Palm Beach International Airport. The exhibit is presented by Palm Beach County Art in Public Places. The exhibition will run from Sept 24, 2008 to Feb 4, 2009. It will be located in the Main Terminal Level 2. I'm finding myself rather mute during this political season in the U.S.

 I'm finding myself rather mute during this political season in the U.S. I think I've grown tired of the hype in the presidential elections. I have a friend who says simply that to really change anything politically in the U.S. one must start first at home in ones own community, ones own city, ones own county and finally in ones own state. What happens at the national level is so complicated by party politics, compromise and even corruption that nothing you hear will be true. Most of it is just hype to get elected. I agree that little happens from the top down.
