TIM PORTER: STILL LIVES / Photographs Portraits from The Collection of The Congdon Anatomical Museum, Bangkok
La Petite Mort Gallery, Ottawa, ON CA Canada

La Petite Mort Gallery presents Tim Porter: Still Lives / Photographs Portraits from The Collection of The Congdon Anatomical Museum, Bangkok - in Collaboration with the Ottawa Month of Photography. In 1988, Tokyo-based photographer Tim Porter gained access through special permission to a very privileged space: the Sirirai Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. For one week only, he had the opportunity to photograph surreal specimens of humanity conjoined twins. Preserved in formaldehyde and kept in the collection of the Congdon Anatomical Museum, Porter carefully shot his subjects through their glass cocoons, eliminating all traces of location, time and place. Sean Talley
Jancar Jones Gallery, San Francisco, CA USA United States of America

The Jancar Jones Gallery is pleased to announce its second solo exhibit of the work of San Francisco-based artist, Sean Talley. The exhibit will consist of a number of works on paper, as well as three-dimensional works in plaster and Masonite. Building on concepts from his previous exhibit, in which the subject was presented as the object rather than a representation of itself, his new body of work thus brings materiality to the fore, focusing his efforts on the surface and presence of each piece. Using common materials, such as graphite and plaster, he creates simple hard-edged forms, using slight gestures to 'let the materials present themselves.' - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com

William Wegman : Man with the Dogs
Fortune Cookie Project, , SG Singapore

Pioneer video artist, painter and photographer William Wegman comes to town in September at Fortune Cookie Projects. Renowned the world over as the 'Man with the dogs,' Wegman has used his celebrated troupe of Weimaraners to capture the attention of curators, collectors and critics as well as the general public. Always taken seriously by the cognoscenti, but never taking himself seriously, Wegman, over the past 40 years, has created a body of work that appeals to both the most conceptually-minded viewer as well as someone who just likes a good joke. The subject of countless museum and gallery exhibitions around the world, Wegman has also produced work for the general viewer, as seen on America's Saturday Night Live and Sesame Street. Using the simplest of media, Wegman's work reaches out to an audience ranging from the littlest toddler to the oldest contemporary art specialist. - Read Indepth Article at http://www.absolutearts.com
